But, driving into East Palestine at 5 a.m. this Monday morning told a different story. There was a charred smell in the air from miles away, and I wasn't the only one who smelled it. This all-heart approach appeared in sharp contrast to the more minimalist downplaying approach of the federal and state governments so far.
