Thousands of residents still were without power Wednesday as utility companies continue to repair power lines downed by the storms.

Progress is being made, with AEP Ohio reducing the number of outages to about 50,000 as of late Wednesday, down from more than 250,000 on Tuesday. The company is estimating most people should have power restored by 5 a.m. Thursday. A second EF1 tornado touched down at 11:22 p.m. in Morrow County and continued into Knox County, according to the NWS. It was on the ground for more than seven miles and had top winds of 105 mph. Some uprooted trees landed on buildings, a detached garage was destroyed, and a barn was destroyed. Some of the farm equipment was thrown 200 to 300 yards.
