Fireworks sales have begun for the 4th of July holiday, but ahead of those celebrations, officials in Snohomish County are warning about setting off fireworks.
"If you want to go enjoy the fireworks please do but find a place that has fireworks that are doing it with permits and in an area where they’re allowed," said Maren Mckay, PIO for the Lynnwood Police Department.It is illegal to discharge fireworks in Bothell, Brier, Edmonds, Everett, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Woodway, and unincorporated Southwest Snohomish County .
“It impacts us completely and also statistics prove that people will just go to places where fireworks are illegal purchase those and those are dangerous," Michalski added.Setting off fireworks is illegal in any county park, state park, or federal land. It is also illegal on public property including streets, sidewalks, or schools.
