Authorities are investigating what led up to a fiery crash in southwest Harris County where we're told a constable deputy's patrol car was involved.
Details are still coming in but according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, officers were called out to help control traffic following a major crash at S. Sam Houston Parkway W at Fondren near Missouri City.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, one of which was engulfed in flames and the other was a patrol vehicle. The distinction was not made clear, as of this writing. We're told a Harris Co. Pct. 7 Constable Deputy was involved in the crash, but any injuries were not disclosed at this time. At last check, all westbound tollway lanes at the site of the crash were closed as authorities continue investigating. No additional information was provided, but this story will continue to be updated as it continues to develop.
