Witnesses are urged to come forward
Police remain at the scene of a suspected Salford shooting as detectives call on witnesses to come forward. Officers were called out to Churchill Way, in Pendleton, following reports of a possible firearms discharge yesterday afternoon .
An area has been taped off today, close to the Plane Court apartment block and St Paul's Church, at Paddington Close. In an update issued this afternoon , Greater Manchester Police confirmed no arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is being urged to come forward. A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 3pm yesterday , officers were called to reports of a possible firearms discharge at an address on Churchill Way, Pendleton."At this stage, it is believed that no one has been injured in relation to this incident and no arrests have been made at this stage. A scene remains in place whilst we continue to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call GMP on 101, quoting log 2068 of August 15, 2023. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
