Authorities said the officer was struck by gunfire in the 2200 block of West Maypole Avenue just before 9:20 p.m., sustaining a gunshot wound. An off-duty Chicago police officer sustained a gunshot injury in the 2200 block of W. Maypole and transported to Stroger Hospital. Condition unknown. PIO in route. Additional details to follow.Police said the officer was transported to Stroger Hospital, where they are in fair condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
