Gareth Southgate reacts - Now claimed Newcastle United star Elliot Anderson is having second thoughts on Scotland.
The three lions boss asked whether the Newcastle United star is being targeted for England.
The reason given at the time was an unspecified injury, but the instant response north of the border, appeared to be overwhelmingly concerns over whether Elliot Anderson would indeed be committing to Scotland. “Obviously, he was called into their squad earlier in the week and I don’t know what the position is at the moment.“That is something that John McDermott and others at our organisation will be picking up.”
This is a longstanding regular situation that crops up, in terms of so many players who qualify to play for England AND also could play for one or more of the likes of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
