Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Reds announce deadline day departure of Brennan Johnson
The Nigel Doughty Academy graduate ends a 14-year association with the Reds as he completes the switch in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £47.5 million. Johnson joined Forest's academy at the age of eight and departs having made more than 100 appearances for the club.
Spurs were far from the only ones keen on him this summer. The Reds had already rejected bids from Brentford, while the likes of Aston Villa and West Ham United had him on their radar. Johnson played a key role in helping the Reds secure survival last season, scoring eight goals in 38 league appearances. He had also been integral in their promotion-winning season. His departure comes amid what has been a busy transfer deadline day at the City Ground. Forest have confirmed four new arrivals so far on the final day of the window, with Nuno Tavares, Nicolas Dominguez, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Odysseas Vlachodimos having put pen to paper. Ola Aina, Anthony Elanga, Matt Turner, Gonzalo Montiel, Andrey Santos and Murillo joined earlier in the window.
