Grace O’Malley-Kumar, who was killed in the Nottingham rampage, died trying to save her friend.
University of Nottingham students Grace O’Malley Kumar and Barnaby Weller were walking back to their digs after an end of term party when they were attacked A witness said Grace O’Malley-Kumar, 19, could have run away as the black-clad attacker knifed pal Barnaby Webber, also, 19, from behind in the early hours of last Tuesday morning.
The resident, who did not wish to be named, said she and her husband have been traumatised by the ‘awful’ footage of the attack captured by CCTV, which has been passed to police. Ian Coates, 65, a school caretaker, was also killed a short while later as he was making his way to work.
