One teacher said they 'need more support to be able to deal with young people’s mental health challenges while overcoming their own'
Over 30 Northamptonshire teachers are "crying out" for improved mental health support at the launch of a new training programme. Educators in the county attended the unveiling of the Educators Coaching Academy at the end of last month.
The packed-out event was led by former teacher and international mental health coach Sam Moinet who guided attendees through a series of practical and hands-on coaching approaches. He also shared his "mission to revolutionise mental health support" in UK schools – not just for children, but for school leaders and educators too.
Dan Cox, Assistant Head at Nicholas Hawksmoor Primary School added: “There’s been so much focus on mental health awareness, but the knowledge for teachers to be able to help themselves and their children haven’t caught up. There’s a definite knowledge gap across the industry in general that needs addressing.
Sam Moinet, Founder of the Educators Coaching Academy said, “This was the first in-person event from the ECA, marking its official launch and I couldn’t have asked for a more passionate and determined group of teachers to start this journey with me.
