The North Pole Police Dept. is hosting a ceremony to honor Peace Officers in Alaska who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The North Pole Police Dept. is hosting a ceremony to honor Peace Officers in Alaska who have given the ultimate sacrifice.will be held on May 17, at 11 a.m. located at the Trooper Gabe Rick and Trooper Scott Johnson Memorial Park with a barbeque preceding the ceremony at the NPPD station.
This annual event pays tribute to all Peace Officers in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, which is held on May 15 each year, falling in Police Week.Lowering your stars and stripes, if you have a U.S. flag at home, you can lower your flag to show solidarity. Lighting a candle in your window to honor the brave men and women who have been injured or lost their lives for keeping the peace.
Giving back to the peace community by supporting a Peace Officer charity or help families of officers killed in the line of duty. You can also donate your time to volunteering.
