“Our small shelter has done an extraordinary job in providing a safe place for dogs and cats when they need us the most,” said North Beach PAWS Vice President Carol Jamroz. “We have an all-volunteer staff that is passionate about the animals in our care and will always go that extra mile to save as many dogs and cats as possible. Our partnerships with several no-kill shelters in more populated areas helps us to relocate cats and dogs and get them into loving homes more quickly.

In 2022, NB PAWS also worked with law enforcement to rescue over 150 animals from cruelty and neglect., there were 100,000 more cats and dogs facing euthanasia in the U.S. in 2022 compared to 2021. Although it seemed like more people were adopting during the pandemic, dog and cat adoptions actually declined in 2022.
