Norman Reedus teases what fans of TheWalkingDead can expect from his 'epic' new spin-off series:
Even as Daryl has stepped into more of a leadership role, I still wouldn’t classify him as a big speech guy, so how did you approach him needing to be that person in the finale?
I think the speeches are different. Rick would give speeches on, like, a stage, which means the group would build a stage for him to give a speech on. I always thought Daryl was the type that if he wanted to get everyone's attention in a big crowd, he would stand on a car. I don't need anybody to build me a box to stand on. So it was those types of speeches that I didn't want to give.
We get the surprise ending with the reappearance of Rick and Michonne, as well as the images of all the other beloved former characters. For you, why was that the perfect way to go out? I think it really added to it. That coda goes on for a long time, and if you think about how many characters were on this show that really had an impact, there's so many. There's just so many really good stories told through all these different characters., I mean, you could make a spinoff of every single one of these characters on the show.
