A new A24 movie starring Nicolas Cage named Dream Scenario will open the Toronto International Film Festival Platform Competition.
“This surrealist satire-comedy has sharp, timely observations about social media culture — especially going viral — and its impact on the way that we interact with others in our day-to-day life. Cage delivers some of his finest work,”“A schlubby professor who never made it becomes an overnight celebrity after appearing in everyone’s dream,” reads the synopsis.
The Platform competition will also feature movies like Dear Jassi, Great Absence, I Told You So, The King Tide, Not a Word, The Rye Horn, Sisterhood, Shame on Dry Land, and Spirit of Ecstasy.The Dream Scenario cast includes Cage, Michael Cera, Julianne Nicholson, Tim Meadows, Kate Berlant, Dylan Baker, and Dylan Gelula.Jonathan Sim is a film critic and filmmaker born and raised in New York City. He is an avid fan of Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pixar, DC, and nearly every new movie.
