Home Office pathologist Dr Alison Armour said Nicola Bulley was alive when she entered the water
Nicola Bulley died by drowning and was alive when she entered the water, an inquest into her death has heard.
More than a dozen people will give evidence at the inquest, including experts, the detective who led the police investigation, members of the public who were in the area around the time of Nicola's disappearance and members of her family.
Toxicology tests found therapeutic levels of beta blocker propranolol and painkiller paracetamol. Although there was some ethanol the levels were consistent with post mortem microbial activity - bacteria within the body produce ethanol after death.
