The first capital derby of the season won't be shown live - and the new Hibs boss can't understand why.
Hibs boss Nick Montgomery has slammed the TV blackout of the Edinburgh derby - insisting a worldwide audience would tune in to one of Scottish football’s most explosive showdowns.
“It’s definitely disappointing for us as a club. I’m sure Hearts are the same and for the supporters. Not just the ones here but the ones around the world that follow their team and love watching big derbies. His predecessor Lee Johnson escaped punishment after appearing to lash out at Jambos boss Steven Naismith the last time the two locked horns - sparking the incredible bust up that saw Hibs defender Rocky Bushiri red carded along with Hearts sub keeper Ross Stewart and goalkeeping coach Paul Gallacher.
“I’m sure we will try to be respectful for everybody and the game is the most important thing, not the two benches. It's always a hard one for the referee. Hopefully he makes the right decisions. We've got VAR involved as well.
