The Loudon County Sheriff’s investigation found that Everett was speeding “over twice the posted 45 mph speed limit just prior to the crash.”

According to ESPN, Everett was the driver in a 2010 Nissan GT-R that left the road and struck several trees back on Dec. 23. Olivia S. Peters, 29, his girlfriend, was killed in the crash.

ESPN, citing his attorney, reported that Everett was released from the Loudon County Magistrate’s Office Tuesday on $10,000 bond. It reported that the Loudon County Sheriff’s investigation found that Everett was speeding “over twice the posted 45 mph speed limit just prior to the crash.” Everett’s attorney, Kaveh Norrishad, released a statement to ESPN that read, “Our team continues to investigate this matter as we intend on vigorously defending Mr. Everett against these allegations. We continue to ask that judgment be reserved until all facts are fully investigated and litigated in the proper form.”

According to the report, Everett spent four days in the hospital after the accident. He has been with the team since 2015 and has been a special teams captain since 2018, per ESPN. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
