“I twisted my ankle and got a spiral fracture in my tibia and fibula and broke my ankle,” she said. “When you look at the x-ray, it looks like a corkscrew. That is the worst because it’s not stable.”
“If you have an infection, particularly in bone or around a fracture, it can be a difficult thing to treat,” said Dr. Michael Weaver, Chief of Orthopedic Trauma at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “The doctor said to me, it’s healed,” said Jessica. “I looked at him and said, what?”“If this bone heals, this is what I’m going to do,” said Jessica. “I don’t care how I do it. I don’t care if I walk it.”“Every week it was step by step,” she said.
