The group aims to provide support for parents and families who's children are born with Trisomy 13 and 18
Northern Irish parents who have lost their babies as a result of Trisomy conditions have come together to help one another in a new group.
The term Trisomy is used to describe the presence of an extra chromosome, with the majority of babies born with Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18 passing away before their first birthday. "Following his passing I found it hard to get localised support here in Northern Ireland for parents and families who have been impacted by Trisomy conditions, and while there are very helpful charities based in the UK and Ireland, there was nothing specific to our area.
"We are planning to hold these meetings monthly and have set up a Facebook group that is open to parents and we aim to provide further support to families and signpost them in the right direction for the care and support they may need." Danielle continued: "Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important time for parents and families who have lost babies and gives us an opportunity to remember them and celebrate their lives.
