The pods are fully insulated, double glazed and complete with wood burning stove
A popular campsite in the centre of Sherwood Forest is adding six new ‘Bothies’ to its existing camping pitches and glamping units. The new bothies launched in August and are supplied by Wigwam Holidays. Each have space to sleep up to four people.
The pods are fully insulated, double glazed and come with wood burning stoves for those cooler months. Spencer Pettit, Sherwood Pines Campsite Owner said “We are really excited about our latest additions and means we can offer even greater choice for guests to visit and stay and enjoy all that this fabulous forest and wider region has to offer."
Charles Gulland, managing director of Wigwam Holidays and Wigwam Cabins said: “As a brand, our purpose is to ‘provide great holidays in the great outdoors’ and the launch of Wigwam Holidays into Sherwood Forest is a perfect fit with this all year round site. "This will enable visitors to experience the forest through every season in warm, comfortable and quirky accommodation with this innovative new design Bothy Pod”.
The Royal Forest of Sherwood is famous for the legend of Robin Hood and is also home to the Major Oak, which according to local folklore was Robin Hood's main hideout. Each year the forest hosts the Robin Hood Festival, but as the forest has over 1,000 acres of trees, there is always something for everyone no matter the time of year.
