Doug Morrow was also president of The Friends of the West Shore Theatre and a vital force in working to reopen the historic building.
“He was a good friend to the borough,” DJ Landis, a former longtime mayor of New Cumberland, said Thursday night.
Morrow, who was in his 50s, previously served as an elected official in Camp Hill as well. The Camp Hill GOP offered its condolences on its Facebook page. “I wish I could be more involved because emergency management is one of the reasons I get involved in politics,” he said at the time. Morrow worked as director of business development, business development manager and commercial sales manager at Mellon Certified Restoration, according to his LinkedIn page. He was all about bringing a brighter tomorrow to New Cumberland, including a key role in the nonprofit that is working to bring the West Shore Theatre back to life.
