A new online petition is calling on the UK Government to ‘abolish’ Council Tax for people receiving State Pension payments. Petition creator, Brian Hildersley, proposes that Council Tax should be abolished as some pensioners are spending ‘around 30 per cent’ of their State Pension income on the household bill.
The petition states: “We want the Government to abolish Council Tax for everyone in receipt of the State Pension.
