Nets 123, Rockets 114: Brooklyn dials it up from distance as losing streak hits 7 games
NEW YORK — The Rockets’ troubles keeping up from the 3-point line were nothing new. Rarely has it been more obvious, or definitive.With the game on the line, however, the Brooklyn Nets poured in nine 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. The Rockets had nine in the game.
The Rockets made 9 of 30. But the Rockets were scoring, anyway, while caught in one of those weird games when they made their tough shots and missed the relatively easy ones. The Nets should be a strong defensive starting five, with three outstanding defenders .But making the tough shots calls for Kevin Porter Jr. and Josh Christopher, who often seem to prefer them.
Green turned the ball over and Claxton scored inside. Claxton blocked a pair of Alperen Sengun shots at the rim, and O’Neale drained another 3-pointer, giving the Nets an 11-0 run.
