The Murder In The Badlands series examines the disappearances and deaths of Lisa Dorrian, Arlene Arkinson, Inga Maria Hauser and Marian Beattie
The Netflix series about the unsolved murders of four women in Northern Ireland is trending across the UK and Ireland.
No one has been brought to justice for any of the murders and the interest of Netflix in their stories has been a boost for the women’s families’ as they continue their search for answers and justice, and for two of the families, the recovery of their remains. The bodies of Lisa Dorrian who was murdered on February 27, 2005, aged 27, and Arlene who was murdered on August 14, 1994, aged just 15, have never been found despite extensive searches.
Lisa’s sister Joanne Dorrian, said: “Murder In The Badlands is still trending on Netflix and we as a family just want to thank everyone for giving these girls a voice and for helping to find answers for all four families. “They should know that even all time on, we’re still being given information about Lisa’s last days and the people she’d been with and we will never give up our fight to have her brought home to us.”
One of four sisters, Lisa had recently split up with her long term boyfriend and joined a new social circle who were unknown to her family. An inquest in 2021 found that Howard was indeed guilty of Arlene’s murder. He was the last person to be seen with her in the early hours of the Sunday morning and there is no record of her being alive after that date. Arlene’s remains were disappeared in Northern Ireland and despite extensive searches, have yet to be found.
