Lanes were shut when emergency crews rushed to the scene of a fire
Three fire engines were called to the scene, with firefighters using two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus. The fire was out one hour later and the property was handed back to its owner by early afternoon, with no injuries reported by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Another neighbour, Joe Whitman, a 21-year-old University of Nottingham student, had not noticed the fire but had heard the sirens filling the street. "That's quite a shock because I didn't know there had been a fire so close, it is surprising I didn't see it. I'm glad no-one seems seriously hurt though.
A Wollaton resident, who did want to be named, added: "It looks like it was quite bad and I heard the sirens the other day. I hope whoever lives there is getting any support they need - it must be awful to have that happen to your home."
