Consider Gaslighters/narcissists also view others as inadequate or not as special as themselves. They frequently refer to others as"losers," with those they seek to maintain narcissistic supply from as"winners." As soon as the gaslighter/narcissist realizes that his"supply" is being cut off, those he held in faux high regard are now lumped in with the other"losers." The gaslighter/narcissist wastes no time on loyalty.
