In his farewell message, Chris wrote: "Thank you 5 Live. Today is my last day with BBC 5 Live. I've been part of the family for a decade, worked on every show and I've loved every minute.
"Media City has been a brilliant place to work with a truly outstanding cast. The station is in safe hands. "5 Live took me all around the world and trusted me with some of the biggest news and sports stories around. But after 5 years on Breakfast I can no longer answer the 4am alarm.
