The wreck happened in Hunterdon County, the coroner says.

Daniel A. Dean, of the Whitehouse Station section of Readington Township, was pronounced dead at 4:53 p.m. from traumatic injuries sustained in the crash with another vehicle, Coroner Daniel A. Buglio wrote Monday morning in a news release.

The crash was reported at 2:37 p.m. at mile marker 34.77 on County Route 579 in Alexandria, Buglio and New Jersey State Police said. The preliminary state police investigation indicates Dean was riding a Harley-Davidson east on Sweet Hollow Road, public information Trooper Brandi Slota told . A Jeep Wrangler was driving north on Route 579, Slota added. Dean turned the bike right to head north on Route 579 and collided with the front of the Jeep, Slota said.Thank you for relying on us to provide the journalism you can trust.
