The man abused the two girls in a hotel, authorities said.
The federal courthouse in downtown Bay City.BAY CITY, MI — A New Jersey man is heading to federal prison for driving to Michigan to sexually abuse two teenage girls.
Gomez in November pleaded guilty to interstate travel with intent to engage in sexual activity with a minor. In pleading guilty, Gomez said that in July or August 2020 he used his phone and the internet to coerce two girls, ages 13 and 14, to have sex with him. Gomez met the two girls at a Houghton Lake hotel, provided them with alcohol, and sexually abused them on multiple occasions.
The day after Gomez’s arrest, he called a relative from jail to have them destroy evidence and contact one of the victims, the pre-sentence report states. Shortly thereafter, images in Gomez’s iCloud account were deleted.
