We’re about to move house and we’re also organising our wedding and I’m overwhelmed by it all. My fiancé has now started to say that he wants me to lose weight. He always comments on old pictures of me with “wow, look at you there” and it’s now at the point where he’s commenting on my weight twice a week, sometimes more often. I’ve told him that it’s not possible for me to deal with my weight right now and I lose my rag with him every time he mentions it.
I think that people in the comments section will be telling you that this is emotionally abusive behaviour and that he has no right to dictate your size or to make you feel inadequate, and I would agree for the most part. But I’m not sure I'd describe this as domestic abuse at this point, and I think there could be room for improvement.
