Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds' Premier League squad confirmed after summer transfer window
Nottingham Forest have confirmed their 25-man squad for the Premier League season - and at first glance it might seem as though there are some notable absentees.
That is because, as well as naming their 25-man squad for senior players, Premier League rules allow clubs to submit a supplementary list of Under-21s who can also feature. Because of their age, those players do not need to be included in the 25-man list - as is the case with Omobamidele, Murillo, Santos and Elanga.
Omobamidele, Murillo, Santos and Elanga were among the 13 signings Forest made in the transfer window. After the window closes, clubs are required to submit an updated squad to the governing body, including any changes made to shirt numbers. In their primary list, clubs must name up to 25 players but cannot include more than 17 non-homegrown players. Forest meet that requirement. In addition to Shelvey, Ethan Horvath, George Shelvey, Giulian Biancone and Emmanuel Dennis did not make the cut, while Harry Arter has not been part of the first-team set-up for some time.
