A mum who murdered her five-year-old son by poisoning him with antidepressants has been jailed for life

Prosecutors said the 38-year-old was 'very angry and depressed' after their relationship ended. In one voicemail, she said: "I promise you, you won't see him again. You'll see. Bye. Go and enjoy your life." Speaking of the devastating impact of Dylan's death on his family, Mr Keenan said in a statement: "On December 31 2021 I received a phone call from Dylan's mum, Claire Scanlon, to tell me something had happened to Dylan. I was so scared in those moments, not knowing what happened.
He added that his older son Shawn 'worshiped' little brother Dylan and that, despite their age gap, they would often play together and 'nothing was ever too much trouble' for him. Mr Keenan said: "During the last year, I didn't see Dylan very much, she made it very difficult for me to see Dylan." Following his son's death, Mr Keenan said his 'whole outlook on life' had changed, adding: "I don’t think I will ever be the person I was.""It's so hard to accept that he will never grow up and have many firsts. He will never get to celebrate leaving school, going to prom, we will never see him get married or have a child.
"One of the hardest things was to give those presents away to a boy of similar age. I know Dylan would not have wanted them to go to waste,” he said. Shawn said Dylan loved running around the house, play-fighting with his toys and watching cartoons. As a family, they loved celebrating special occasions together and would decorate the house, he added.
