Her 'worry worm' creations have proved very popular
A Nottinghamshire mum has opened up on the heartbreaking loss of her young daughter and how knitting 'worry worms' has helped her to cope. Samantha Greaves, from Wollaton, lost 6-year-old Anai Davison in 2018 but says helping others with her products brings her comfort.
Anai suffered from Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus. Many babies born with Spina bifida get Hydrocephalus . This means there is extra fluid in and around the brain. Samantha continued: “I’m knitting these for anyone, I’ve had a nurse wanting some and ambulance drivers. They can be for people with anxiety and depression.
After writing a post on Facebook about the ‘worry worms’ Samantha was inundated with people wanting one for themselves or a loved one. Samantha is also handing out the worry worms to schools including Glenbrook, where if a child picks up a ‘worry worm’ it means they’re not feeling 100%, as a way to communicate that with their teacher.
