Paul Griffiths attacked his girlfriend after she suspected he was cheating on her
A man punched his girlfriend in front of their four-year-old daughter and snapped her mobile phone as she tried to call 999.
At a hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, prosecutor Rebecca Smith said the pair then went into the kitchen, where the woman scratched Griffiths' back and pulled a drawer onto the floor. Griffiths grabbed her hair and began to drag her through the flat as she fought against him, grabbing onto a radiator and ripping it from the wall.
The court heard the woman suspected Griffiths may have been seeing another woman behind her back. On March 26, she found the other woman at Griffiths' flat and asked her if she was in a relationship with him, angering Griffiths. Sarah Holt, defending, said: "Whether good or bad as a partner, the defendant has always been a very loving, very committed father. I don't suggest he was being a good father that day, but he has always been very involved.
