Project slated for rentals but coudl become condominiums
A new multifamily rental housing development could soon be coming to Antioch.
In 2019, the applicant had submitted plans for a 47-unit single family housing development. At the time, the council said the lots were too small and didn’t meet the 6,000-square-foot requirement so the developer redesigned it to multifamily units instead. Resident Leslie May also questioned the affordability of the Wild Horse housing for which no prices have been set yet, and asked what kind of impact the development would have on residents.
“This is a challenging site to develop,” Ebbs said of the triangular-sized plot, originally planned as low-density, single-family homes. Councilwoman Lori Ogorchock noted that some residents were concerned about potential speeding and sideshows at the development, which is at a dead-end road.
