The handy hack can also lift any snail trails from carpets and rugs - and you likely already have it.
Summer is the time to keep the windows open during the sunny weather, but doing this can draw in unwanted slimy guests. Like most critters, the slippery pests enter homes for two likely reasons - food and shelter.
Followers of the cleaning influencer recently came to the rescue, after one woman took to the internet for advice after one snail managed to leave a slimy trail behind on her carpet. One person said: "I had this last year and never found them so I bought lots of cheap table salt went around the bottom of all the skirting boards and all over the rug ! Never came back again."
Salt is detrimental to snails and slugs as it draws the water out of their skin, dehydrating and kill them. Because of this, they will steer clear of any put in their path.
