MPs and Lords have reported almost three dozen personal devices lost or stolen with some of the kit left on airplanes and in taxis. Newly released data shows that 32 gadgets have gone astray while in the possession of MPs up to November this year.

However few other details, such as the circumstances of the losses and if the police were involved in any of the instances, were released in the partial and redacted answers to requests by Metro.co.uk under theAfter further requests, the Commons disclosed that two iPads were lost in taxis and the same number on airplanes.
The Lords said: ‘The House Administration does not hold any further recorded information on the circumstances leading to its loss.’ High-level government data should be rigorously protected from hostile actors according to cybersecurity experts ‘Some members of parliament may not be fully aware these solutions exist, or what to do once they realise they’ve left a device behind.’
