MP slams reopening of 'not at all appropriate' massage parlour one street from his home
Moon massage parlour on Highfield Road was temporarily closed in 2021 by Blackpool Council due to health and safety concerns. But Blackpool South MP, Scott Benton, says the location of the business is 'not at all appropriate' if it is to reopen, as he says.
Conservative MP Mr Benton told LancsLive: "Highfield Road has changed immensely over the last few years with a number of new shops, bars and restaurants opening. It’s become a vibrant and attractive place to shop and visit once again. Many of the shopkeepers and residents are concerned about the possible reopening of a massage parlour on the road.
The massage parlour was temporarily shutdown over health and safety concerns in 2021. Blackpool Council said the business was to remain shut until it made changes to comply with the health and safety issues. It said in a statement: "Scott Benton has decided once again to take to social media to attack local government and our Labour-led council. His attack claims that we have allowed a ‘brothel’ to operate on Highfield Road. Here’s the truth.
