Businesses in the path of Tuesday’s storms are assessing damage, and some are still closed.. The storm produced heavy rain and hail.
Grapevine Mills closed Tuesday, and about 90% of the stores reopened Wednesday, but the mall’s large food court is still closed. A property spokesperson wasn’t available to answer questions. Sam’s Club at 1701 W. State Hwy 114 in Grapevine was damaged during Tuesday’s tornado and remains closed. “We’re currently addressing the building damage to the Sam’s Club and will reopen as soon as possible,” said Walmart spokeswoman Lauren Willis.
Nearby, the Walmart at 1601 W. State Highway 114 was temporarily closed after the storm and reopened Wednesday morning. Legoland Discovery Center opened late Wednesday morning and will have regular hours on Thursday, according to its Facebook page. Rainforest Cafe is reopening Wednesday afternoon with a limited menu. The mall lost power, and the restaurant needs to restock, according to staff.
