A majority of Canadians polled are willing to consider an electric vehicle for their next purchase, but they’re concerned about how the battery will perform in cold winter weather. — via drivingdotca autonews EV electricvehicles

In the survey, 71% of those polled said they would consider an EV, up from 68% in last year’s survey; but 79% also said an electric vehicle wouldn’t be on the list if it didn’t get at least 400 km on a full charge, up from 77% last year. Of those considering an EV, 21% would be likely to buy a Tesla, and 20% would buy a Toyota, while only 9% would consider a Honda.

The survey also found that 71% believe companies that currently build gasoline cars will be successful with building electric ones; and 75% would prefer to buy an EV that’s assembled in North America. As for rebates, 82% would prefer to have discounts on the price of all EVs when they’re purchased, rather than an EV tax credit.
