The Chicago Bears and newly-acquired Montez Sweat are finalizing a new four-year, $98 million deal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This season, he has 6.5 sacks, 11 quarterback hits and 10 tackles for loss.
Of the Bears' league-low 10 sacks, only five have come from their defensive ends, along with 13 quarterback hits and 11 tackles for loss combined. Sweat is also considered a strong run defender and has been durable. He missed seven games in 2021 when he suffered a broken jaw, sat out one week because of COVID and two others after his brother was shot and killed. But in his other four seasons Sweat hasn't missed a game.
