Monsoon to continue in San Diego with storms, humidity lingering through next week [Breaking]
Monsoonal moisture continued to flow into San Diego Thursday with thunderstorms forming over East County mountains and deserts, the National Weather Service said.
Storms Thursday will likely stay east of San Diego’s urban areas, but suburbs east of the city could see a few sprinkles, said James Brotherton, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service.“There’s a flash-flood watch in the mountains and deserts,” he said. “For the city, we’re not expecting heavy rain or flooding.
The storms are part of the monsoon that’s been leaving the region sticky and humid since last weekend. High humidity from the monsoon is expected to continue to affect the region every day through next week, Brotherton said, and the city could see storms of its own.Temperatures through the monsoonal event should remain in the 70s near the coast and 80s inland.
