A Harrisburg boarding house’s sprinkler system saved the lives of about a dozen people Thursday when a Molotov cocktail was thrown through a window, starting a small fire, officials said. City Fire Chief Brian Enterline said the residents of just one room were displaced after the fire, which began around 4:20 a.m. in the area of 19th and Chestnut Streets.The fire was small, and Enterline said the sprinkler system extinguished the flames before firefighters arrived.
Enterline said the first-floor room belonging to the displaced residents has minor water and smoke damage. No one was hurt.“They weren’t saying ‘good morning, we’re glad you’re here,’” Enterline said.
