“For consumers it should be clear and simple if your data is being shared and who it is shared with,” the Treasury Department chief told a fintech conference sponsored by the FDIC in suburban Washington, DC.
The approach should be for consumers to opt-in rather than opt-out for the collection and sharing of their financial information.
During his presentation, Mnuchin said he finds the high number of Americans who are underbanked shocking.
