A Fort Bend County jury sentenced Gregory Kennith Wise, 33, to life in prison for the 2019 slaying of Brandon Yarbough.A Missouri City man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of murder for the 2019 stabbing death of another city resident, the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office reported.
The victim died in front of the store and Wise fled to a nearby group home where he lived and disposed of the knife and changed his clothes and hid them in a closet, according to the release. When he was arrested at home, Wise denied knowing the victim or being at the store at the time of the murder, according to the release.
During the punishment phase, the state introduced evidence of the defendant’s prior conviction in 2017 for felony deadly conduct related to Wise shooting up his apartment complex.
