by Geoff Pender, Mississippi Today February 7, 2023 For the fourth time in two years, the Republican-led Mississippi Senate voted to extend postpartum Medicaid coverage to mothers from 60 days to one year. Supporters, including Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, call the move a"pro-life" effort to deal with the state's new abortion ban and long-running high rates of death for infants and mothers.
