The wide receiver visited with the team last week.
The Miami Dolphins made a contract offer to Odell Beckham Jr. last week, head coach Mike McDanielBeckham, 31, visited the team's facilities last week but left without putting pen to paper.
"Things went great with him," McDaniel said."We did make him an offer, and business takes time, especially with players such as Odell, who's had a phenomenal career, still has really good football in front of him and has options. So, I think those conversations will be ongoing. We'll see where they go."
Beckham played for the Baltimore Ravens last season on a one-year, $15 million deal. He hauled in 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Though he remains one of the biggest names at the wide receiver position, Beckham has not eclipsed 50 catches or 1,000 yards in a season since 2019. Despite the lack of gaudy number over the past few years, he did catch two touchdowns in the 2021 NFL playoffs for the Los Angeles Rams en route to a Super Bowl title.
The Dolphins are not desperate for explosive playmakers with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle already on the roster. That said, they did lose No. 3 receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. to the New Orleans Saints in free agency. Beckham would provide a pair of steady hands for Tua Tagovailoa in addition to some veteran leadership for the locker room.
