Most of the criticism has to do with Big Blue picking Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick, which was considered a reach by most fans. But Mike Francesa had a different take, blasting the Giants for selecting Corey Ballentine in the sixth round. "You can have an off-field incident with any draft pick, any time, any team," Francesa said. But when you finish your draft and stress how you went out of your way to take the right kind of guys, the guys you want on your time, the guys who are gonna be great character guys, when you stress that, it looks pretty bad when one of them gets shot on a Saturday night.
