Mr Gove said: “Kemi doesn’t just win the argument, she delivers – on getting the Whitehall machine to embark on new policies and on levelling up Britain. “Now she has the opportunity to use her first class brain to fix the big problems facing our country.”Ms Badenoch told The Times if elected she would lower taxes alongside “tight spending”.The MP for Saffron Walden, also pledged to radically slash the size of the state, vowing to preside over a “limited government focused on the essentials”.
Ms Badenoch resigned as minister for equalities and levelling up on Wednesday, the day before Mr Johnson confirmed he would quit.woke policies and slap down of Labour accusations that Britain is racist. Lord Theodore Agnew, who quit the government in January as treasury minister over its decision to write off £4.3bn in fraudulent Covid loans, has backed Ms Badenoch.“I have always valued her candour and common sense.”
