We chat with Michael Cera about PawsOfFury, now playing in theaters, and what it means to be a dog in a cat's world:
The quest to become a samurai is a daunting challenge for all who undertake it, but even more so for a dog in a cat's world. That's exactly the challenge that the cheerful hero Hank encounters in Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies' new animated martial arts comedy, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. As part of the ensemble voice cast of Paws of Fury, Michael Cera provides the voice of Hank.
Michael Cera: Yeah, it's a really nice story I think, because he's totally undeterred by every obstacle that's in his way and every rejection that he's facing. I really like how set he is on achieving his goal even in this world of cats that don't want him there. There's just a really nice message baked into it, and especially into his refusal to quit or to be cowed by the rejection.
So, with the influence of Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles on Paws of Fury, was there anything else that really jumped out to you about the unique nature of Paws of Fury?
